Bespoke HTML5 Games for TV Shows
Utilizing games as a marketing tool is not really a new thing for the TV industry. This industry was one of the first movers to leverage games.
TV shows can gain a huge boost if HTML5 games are part of the marketing strategy. Fans love to have fun, and of course, they want to experience playing as their favorite characters. Not only that, potential viewers may start watching a TV show once they play a game about it.
Here are some examples of bespoke HTML5 games that were built to promote TV shows.
Pogo TV HTML5 Game for Tik Tak Tail
To promote their latest animated show Tik Tak Tail, Pogo TV decided to launch a game called Tik Bubble Shooter.
Tik Bubble Shooter is a puzzle-action game where you play as Tik, the cute rabbit from the show. The main objective per level is to collect all the trapped carrots inside the bubble.
You have to aim and shoot the bubble you are holding towards the same colored bubble to form clusters. Once it reaches 3 or more, the clustered bubbles will pop.
Higher scores are given if you manage to pop clustered bubbles and different colored bubbles fall down.
Teen Titans Go! HTML5 Game
Teen Titans Go! is the famous remake of Teen Titans series. To further promote the series, Warner Bros. decided to produce a HTML5 game to gain new viewers.
The game is called Teen Titans Go! Food Fight!, it depicts the fun and lightheartedness of the series.
You play as Teen Robin in a first-person view. Your friends are hiding, and will randomly show up to throw you food. You have to fight back! Throw foods at them and they will lose health, but you have to be fast as they can hit you as well.
Once you earn enough points, you can buy more foods for your arsenal.
Justice League Action HTML5 Game
Justice League Action is one of Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment’s animated series that launched this year. It is highly commended by fans and new viewers.
A game called Justice League Action: Orbital Chase was produced for the DC Kids website. It is a match-3 game where players are able to play as Superman, Batman, and more.
Players have to connect 3 or more similar superhero icons for the superhero to attack the enemy. The longer the chain the better as the damage will increase. A time limit is also set so players have to defeat the enemy within a certain time range.
Disney’s Phineas and Ferb HTML5 Game
The last game in our list is a HTML5 game for Disney’s one of the most popular cartoons, Phineas and Ferb. The game is a tower defense called Phineas and Ferb Backyard Defense.
Players take the role of Phineas and Ferb, and they have to defend their backyard from evil monsters. Build various structures such as lighting towers and freeze cannons and repel the enemies.
Phineas and Ferb both have their super powerful cannon that players can use once both are completely charged up.
