HTML5 adds to the few variants that the platform has in terms of chess games. The great part about HTML5 Chess is that it includes both 2D and 3D views, both of which can be used by the player during the game play. As in most chess games, you have the option of choosing either the computer as the opponent, or any other player in its place. And there are quite a few options that you can use while playing, for instance, dragging and dropping the chess pieces, or typing the letter/alphabet that stands for the intended move.
